Göcek is a sheltered marina town at the top of the Gulf of Fethiye, surrounded by pine-covered hills and water scattered with islands and hidden coves. Yachting is not an add-on here; it is the organising idea of the place, with multiple marinas and boat departures built into the town’s daily life. Yet Göcek itself stays low-rise, compact and surprisingly easy to walk. Historically the area sits within the broader Lycian landscape, while modern Göcek became the calm launching point for gulet cruises and the famous Twelve Islands.

Göcek is best as a reset or short-to-medium base. The marina edge gives flat walking, restaurants, groceries, independent Reformer/fitness and easy boat access; winter recovery is stronger than you might expect, while dedicated coworking is thin. If you want turquoise water and a polished but quiet town without the scale of a resort city, it works very well — especially when you actually get on the water.
